We are pleased to announce the following promotions effective January 1, 2018:

Adam M. Formus

 Adam M. Formus, CPA, CFE has been promoted to Principal in the Audit and Accounting Department of DHL&S. With more than 17 years of public accounting experience, Adam provides audit and tax services to multistate and multinational businesses in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, health care, service companies, and not-for-profit organizations.  Adam has significant expertise with compliance and auditing procedures for public utility companies and The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). His background also includes corporate and partnership income tax planning and preparation.

Adam is the Treasurer and serves on the Board of Directors of the Polish American Foundation of Connecticut. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Adam earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and graduated Cum Laude from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Fluent in Polish, Adam also earned the globally preferred Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential.

 Mark Pires

 Mark Pires, CPA has been promoted to an Accounting and Auditing Manager with DHL&S. In this role, he is responsible for providing accounting and auditing services to clients in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, not-for-profit, health care and public utilities. With more than nine years of experience, his background includes multistate and multinational industries, employee benefit plans, compliance and auditing procedures for Single Audit requirements, and individual and corporate income tax return preparation.

Mark is committed to supporting not-for-profit organizations that benefit children and underprivileged families in the local area.  He actively volunteers and plays an integral role in the Firm’s holiday giving program. Organizations that have benefitted from Mark’s efforts include Area Congregations Together, Inc., the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, and the Beth-El Center.

Mark is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and business administration from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut.
